Rashid Latif encourages India to concentrate on winning ICC titles. Since the 2013 Champions Trophy, India has failed to win an ICC competition.
Rashid Latif, a former Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter, believes that the Indian squad should focus on collaborative accomplishments rather than individual milestones. His comments came as he pondered whether Virat Kohli can beat Sachin Tendulkar’s century record after the former scored his 72nd international century against Bangladesh on Saturday, December 10.
Latif believes that India should focus on adding ICC championships to their trophy cabinet because they have missed several opportunities in recent years, including the Champions Trophy 2017, the 50-overs World Cup in 2019 and 2021, and the T20 World Cup in 2022.

“This is not the time to count the centuries.” It makes no difference. They must win a championship. India has not won a trophy in many years. “Whether Kohli gets 100 or 200 hundreds, it makes no difference; what matters to Indian cricket and the fans is a title,” Rashid Latif remarked on his YouTube channel.
“In terms of finances, the IPL and Indian cricket are well ahead, but there is now pressure from fans and the media to win a trophy.” Kohli has the ability to score 100 hundreds if he so desires, but the demand has shifted. The Asia Cup, the Champions Trophy, the 2019 World Cup, and the past two T20 World Cups are all gone. “While 100 centuries has its place, India and the Indian cricket board need to win a championship,” he continued.
Since the 2013 Champions Trophy in England and Wales, India has unable to win a major ICC competition. Following that, the Men in Blue did make the semi-finals and finals of ICC events, but they ran out of fire and brimstone in knockout matches.
Their most recent defeat occurred last month, when the Indian squad exited the T20 World Cup in Australia with a devastating 10-wicket thrashing against eventual champions England after placing first in their group in the league stage.
