Team India’s prospects of claiming the 2022 T20 Championship have been crushed. In the semi-finals when they were beaten by England through 10 wickets. Since the heartbreaking setback, the Indian squad has been widely chastised by supporters. And cricket analysts for the poor decisions made by the team’s leadership, particularly skipper Rohit Sharma. Team India had trialled several formations before to the competition’s start. But Yuzvendra Chahal and Harshal Patel were not given any game in the T20 World Cup.
However, India wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik lauded coach Rahul Dravid as well as Rohit Sharma. For maintaining excellent contact with both players, which helped to keep the team camp in a healthy state.

“Both those guys are the only ones who haven’t played a single game in the tournament. But they did not sulk, they were not upset. At the start of the tournament, they were told that under these certain conditions we will be playing you, otherwise it will be hard for us. So, they were aware and they were preparing in such a way that whenever they get an opportunity, they will be giving their best,”
Dinesh Karthik stated
“I think when that clarity is there from the coach and the captain then it makes your job very easy as a player. You start looking inwards that what you need to do and if at any stage those guys would have got the opportunity, then they would have definitely given their best. There was no sulking and no negative energy in the team environment and that’s the best thing you expect,”
Dinesh Karthik added.
Following the T20 World Cup, Team India will face New Zealand together in white-ball series, which begins on Friday in Wellington.
