While Sachin Tendulkar declined to comment on team combinations, he believes that having a left-hander in the batting order provides the diversity that every team seeks. “Left handers offer value without a question, and bowlers have to change, fielders have to react, and if they are able to rotate strike regularly, it is not something that the bowler appreciates,” Tendulkar told PTI.
“Look, I wouldn’t go by simply (top) three. You always play as a unit, and one should see what works well. You can’t go by top two or top three. As a unit, what you have is vital, and then figuring out who to send at what position, as well as seeing what the opposition’s strength is.”
