Michael Bevan selects three favorites to win the T20 World Cup in 2022. Australia will begin the T20 World Cup 2022 as the reigning champions.

Former Australian batter Michael Bevan has given his top three selections for title challengers ahead of the forthcoming T20 World Cup 2022, which are India, England, and Australia. The ICC mega event kicks off on October 16 in Australia, with the hosts serving as the tournament’s defending champions. With several bilateral series, the nations have been preparing for the high-intensity competition.

India has been on a run since the T20 World Cup 2021, having not lose a T20I series since. Their recent home victory over Australia and South Africa have further extended to their supremacy in the format. England traveled to Pakistan for a seven-match T20I series, which they won 4-3, to boost their morale ahead of the competition.

Australia can never be rule out of an ICC event, and they win the trophy last year when all odds are stack against them. The team captained by Aaron Finch has kept the majority of the stars from the previous T20 World Cup roster and will benefit from home advantage.

Australia is more than capable of winning two World Cups in a row: Bevan, Michael.

Bevan believes that India and England are ahead of other teams in terms of current form, but he also mentioned the strength and quality of the Australian squad, which cannot be overlooked. He believes Australia has what it takes to win successive World Cups and believes home field advantage will be a key influence.

“I reckon I would have to say India, England and Australia. I think that the pick of the teams at the moment are probably India and England. But Australia have some amazing players, some super talented players and, when it clicks for them, it clicks and they are plenty good enough to take off (win) consecutive World Cups.”

Bevan said in Sydney, as quoted by news agency AP.

“And, given the home ground advantage (for Australia), it should help a little bit as well. I think they would have to be my top three at this stage, I think.”

Bevan added.
