Trevor Bayliss was named as Punjab Kings’ new head coach on Friday, effective in IPL 2023. Bayliss was England’s coach when Eoin Morgan’s team won the 2019 World Cup at home. Bayliss will bring experience from winning the 2019 World Cup with England, two Indian Premier League (IPL) titles, and a Big Bash League (BBL) title with the Sydney Sixers.

Bayliss has taken over for India legend Anil Kumble.

Punjab’s only IPL final appearance came in 2014, when they were defeated by the Kolkata Knight Riders.

Mayank and Arshdeep Singh were the only two players retained by Punjab ahead of the IPL 2022 season.
