However, Mohammad Rizwan has pulled away from the pack. After a string of productive performances in the ongoing Asia Cup, edging out compatriot Babar Azam. The top spot in the latest ICC Men’s T20I Batting Rankings, which release on Wednesday.
Rizwan has scored the most runs in the Asia Cup so far, with 192 in three matches, including two fifties. The opening batter hit fifty against Hong Kong and India. He also hit 43 in the tournament’s first game against India. Prior to the tournament, he rank second behind his skipper Babar. However, a string of low scores from the Paksitani captain, combined with his opening partner’s prolific season, has propelled Rizwan to the top of the rankings with 815 rating points, an increase of 19 points.

top-ranked T20I batter: Suryakumar Yadav and Babar Azam drop to second and fourth place, respectively.
Babar has had a terrible run in the 15th edition of the continental tournament, posting scores of 10, 9, and 14 in three matches, dropping 16 rating points and dropping to second place in the latest rankings. Babar had been perched atop the mountain for over 1,000 days.
Meanwhile, during India’s T20I series against the West Indies, Suryakumar Yadav climbed to second place and came close to taking the top spot. However, he has dropped to fourth place due to poor performances in the last two games.
Suryakumar’s drop boosted the stylish Protean Aiden Markram, who has surpassed the Indian batter and is now third with 792 rating points. England’s Dawid Malan remains in fifth place in the rankings, with Australian white-ball captain Aaron Finch in sixth place.
