The Asia Cup 2022 is set to begin on August 27 in the UAE. With up to six teams competing for the prestigious trophy. Asia Cup 2022 format
It should be note that the six teams were split into two groups. Group A includes India, Pakistan, and Hong Kong, while Group B includes Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan. The tournament will begin with a Group B match between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan at the Dubai International Stadium, followed by the much-anticipated India-Pakistan match the following day at the same stadium in Group A.
In terms of format, three teams will play two games each against the other teams in their group, with the top two teams from each group qualifying for the super four stages. The four teams in the super four stages will play three games in a round-robin format, with the top two teams qualifying for the final on September 11.
The previous tournament, held in 2018, used the ODI format, and India won the title by defeating Bangladesh in the finals. Meanwhile, 13 games will play in the tournament this year.
