Former India batter Aakash Chopra described Hardik Pandya as a player India cannot replace because he brings the balance that the team requires with his abilities with both the bat and the ball. Chopra stressed the importance of being cautious in how India uses Hardik to avoid injuring himself. Hardik has been in fantastic form since his return to the Indian team and winning the IPL 2022 title with Gujarat Titans. He has resumed regular bowling and has bowled his full four-over quota in matches on several occasions.
“It’s an insurance policy,” Chopra said of Hardik bowling all four overs on Star Sports following the announcement of India’s squad for the upcoming Asia Cup.
“He is doing exceptionally well. There is no doubt about it. But keep one thing in mind. Hardik Pandya is the only player in that lineup who can provide that balance “He issued a warning.
“All the well-laid plans will fall apart without him,” he said. “You can find a replacement for Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and even Jasprit Bumrah. But you can’t make that XI without Hardik Pandya.”
