Deandra Dottin, all-rounder for the West Indies women’s cricket team. Announced her retirement from international cricket, effective Monday, August 1. The shocking news comes just hours after Barbados was defeated by reigning T20 world champions. Australia in Group A of the Commonwealth Games 2022.
Dottin confirmed the news with a retirement note on her official Twitter handle. Stating that she is ending her illustrious cricketing career because she is no longer able to adhere to team culture and team environment. Which has undermined her ability to perform excellently.
Deandra Dottin’s retirement from international cricket means she will not be available for Barbados’ final CWG 2022 group match against India Women on Wednesday, August 3. The senior all-rounder, who debuted for the Windies in 2008, has played 146 One Day Internationals and 126 Twenty20 Internationals.

Deandra Dottin, meanwhile, holds the record for the fastest century in Women’s T20I history. She had accomplished this feat after scoring an unbeaten 112 off 45 deliveries against South Africa in a T20 World Cup match in St Kitts in 2010. Dottin needed only 38 balls to reach three figures in that match.
