Team India won the first game of the two-match series against Ireland by a seven-wicket margin at The Village in Dublin. Due to rain, the match on Sunday was reduced to 12 overs per side. While the Indian bowlers worked hard in the first innings, the second innings saw runs from Deepak Hooda, Ishan Kishan, and Hardik Pandya.

Umran Malik, a pace sensation, also made his debut for India in this match.
Despite the anticipation, Malik’s debut did not go as planned. The bowler scored 14 runs in his first and only over, with two fours and one six.
When asked about Umran Malik after the game, stand-in India captain Hardik Pandya stated that the bowler should bowl with the older ball.
“He’s been fantastic for his team (Umran Malik). But, after talking with him, I felt he’d be more at ease with the older ball. Ireland batted brilliantly, forcing us to rely on our main bowlers. Maybe he’ll get a full chance in the next game “Hardik stated.
Hardik’s first match as India captain was against Ireland. He took one wicket and scored 24 points in 12 balls to make the moment even more memorable.
“It’s always nice to start a series with a win. It’s critical for us as a team to get off to a good start. I’m very pleased with it “Hardik stated.
On June 28, India and Ireland will play the second and final T20I at the same venue.
