On Wednesday, June 22nd, England will face the Netherlands in the third and final One-Day International (ODI) at Amstelveen. The England team has already won the series after a comfortable second consecutive victory in the second ODI. But skipper Eoin Morgan has been rested due to minor groin issues.
The southpaw has had a rough run-off recently and could use a break from the action. With his long history of back and knee injuries, team management decided not to risk aggravating a minor problem. England has signed left-arm pacer David Payne, 31, to replace the injured Morgan. Payne made his national team debut after spending some time on the white ball circuit.
Meanwhile, in the absence of the Irishman, Jos Buttler has assumed captaincy duties for the game. Buttler, who has been in top form, smashed a mind-boggling 162 off just 70 deliveries in the first ODI, helping England set a world record 498 after 50 overs.
