“Sri Lanka Cricket officials and ACC President met on the sidelines of the IPL final in Hyderabad. Officials stated that they want to host the Asia Cup and are making preparations for it. The Sri Lanka Cricket Board is eager to host the event and made their intentions clear during the meeting. ” ANI quoted a source as saying.

ACC President Jay Shah previously told ANI that he will meet with SLC officials during the IPL finals.
According to the source, a final decision on the hosting rights has yet to be made, and other options such as the UAE and Bangladesh are being considered if Sri Lanka is unable to host the event.
“It could also start before the original date in the hopes that a decision will be made in a day or two and ACC will make an official announcement,” the source added.
