Arshdeep Singh learned of the good news while driving to Punjab’s final league stage match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday.
“I found out in the bus just before the game that I had been selected for the Indian team. I didn’t feel much because the match was on “After Punjab Kings’ five-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad, Arshdeep told teammate Harpreet Brar.

The youngster, who served as a net bowler for the Indian team in an away series against Sri Lanka last year, said bowling to world-class batters like Jonny Bairstow, Shikhar Dhawan, and Liam Livingstone in the Punjab Kings nets session helped him perfect his craft.
“Management deserves praise. They had so many batters on the team that bowling yorkers was the only way to stop them in the nets. That improved my ability to bowl yorkers.”
