Just a day after Gautam Gambhir’s fiery dressing speech to the Lucknow Super Giants piqued cricket fans’ interest, Rajasthan Royals director of cricket Kumar Sangakkara’s speech is gaining traction. Sanga’s speech, on the other hand, was a little different. While Gambhir spoke about the importance of “game sense” and “not giving up,” Sangakkara focused on the quality in the Royals camp and encouraged his team to keep their heads up after a crushing defeat at the hands of the Delhi Capitals, which threatened their playoff hopes.

Rajasthan Royals scored 160 in 20 overs, with R Ashwin and Devdutt Padikkal contributing. In response, DC’s opener Srikar Bharat was lost in the first over of their chase. But then it was the Australian show, as Mitchell Marsh and David Warner put on a match-winning 143-run partnership to defeat the Royals.
Marsh smashed 89 off 62 deliveries, while Warner remained unbeaten on 52 off 41 as DC chased down the 161-run target with 11 deliveries to spare.
