“Don’t Make A Dead Pitch,” Says Inzamam-ul-Haq Of Pakistan’s First Test Against Australia. Pakistan vs. Australia: Inzamam-ul-Haq criticized the pitch conditions in Rawalpindi for the first Test match, calling the result “strange.”
The first Test match between PAK and AUS ended in a tie. In Rawalpindi, the hosts declared their first innings on 475/4, and Australia responded with 459. There was no time for a score by the time the visitors were bowled out. Pakistan batted for the entire Day 5 without losing a wicket, thanks to tons from openers Abdullah Shafique and Imam-ul-Haque. The pitch conditions were also heavily criticized, with former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq describing the game as “really strange.”
Inzamam stated on his YouTube channel, “There were numerous complaints about the wicket condition during this Test. Many people inquired, ‘What is this pitch?’ I believe the pitch in the next Test will be better, and it will produce results “
Inzamam-ul-Haq: “Don’t Make A Dead Pitch”
In response to the Rawalpindi pitch, he stated, “Nowadays, when there is a drawn Test, it feels very strange. I can’t remember the last time we had a Test where you knew it was going to be a draw from the start. As a result, the playing surface will undoubtedly be more athletic (in next Test). Making a turning pitch assists spinners. You take advantage of your home field advantage, but you don’t throw a dead pitch “..
The 52-year-old also lauded Australia for doing a “fabulous job adapting to the pitch.” He also stated that the hosts have a chance to win the series “if they curate the pitches to their strengths.”
“Even Australia did an excellent job of adapting to this pitch.” I expected Pakistan to lead by 100-150 runs in the first innings, but Australia came close to matching Pakistan’s total. “Australia has never backed down,” he said, “but I still believe Pakistan can win this series if they curate pitches based on their strengths.”
Pakistan will host Australia in the second Test of the three-match series on March 12 at the National Stadium in Karachi.
