England’s star batter Jason Roy announced his withdrawal from the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) on Tuesday, citing personal reasons.
Roy, who has sign for Rs 2 crore by the new Gujarat Titans (GT) franchise, thanked the GT family. Including skipper Hardik Pandya, on Twitter for their “faith” in him during the IPL auction last month.
Roy stated that bio-bubble fatigue has taken its toll on him and that he would like to spend more time with his family.
Hello to everyone, especially the Gujarat Titans fans and players. I’ve decided to withdraw from this year’s tournament with a heavy heart.

I’d like to thank the management and captain Hardik for believing in me and selecting me in the auction.
“However, everything that has happened in the world over the last three years has add up and taken its toll on me,” Roy said in a statement.
Roy stated that he expects the Hardik-led team to win the trophy in their inaugural season.
“It only seems right that I spend some quality time with my family. As well as spending time over the next few months working on myself and my game in preparation for a very busy year. I’ll be watching every Titans game and rooting for them to win the championship in their first year in the tournament “He continued.
Apart from Roy, GT also purchase Mohammed Shami, Matthew Wade, and Lockie Ferguson at the auction.
Meanwhile, the franchise draft Hardik, Rashid Khan, and Shubman Gill ahead of the auction.

The 2019 IPL season will take place from March 26 to May 29 at four different venues in Mumbai and Pune.
The ten teams were split into two virtual groups of five each.
GT has been assign to Group B, which includes the Chennai Super Kings. Sunrises Hyderabad. Royal Challengers Bangalore. and Punjab Kings. Meanwhile, the other five teams in Group A are the Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals. Kolkata Knight Riders. Rajasthan Royals. and Lucknow Super Giants.
