Salman Butt backed Babar by citing examples of outstanding captains like Dhoni and Ricky P.
Despite the team’s failure to win a single match in the current Pakistan Super League season, Salman Butt, a former Pakistan captain, has backed Karachi Kings captain Babar Azam.
The Kings were defeated by the Multan Sultans on Wednesday, their eighth loss in as many PSL 2022 meetings. Butt offered examples of great captains like MS Dhoni and Ricky Ponting to buttress his case when questioned if the squad needs a change in leadership next season.
Butt claims that the Karachi Kings’ lack of balance is the reason for their dismal performance.

You can’t do anything in franchise cricket unless you have the correct balance in your squad. And Babar has these players just a week before the competition begins.
Butt commented on his YouTube channel, “It doesn’t matter how brilliant a planner you are if you don’t have specialists on the side.”
Karachi’s troubles, according to Butt, are due to the presence of too many all-rounders and a dearth of specialists.

“From what I’ve seen, practically every major player on the Karachi side, with the exception of one or two, is an all-rounder.” You don’t have a proper fast bowler or an outright leg-spinner who can take wickets. Mohammad Nabi, Imad Wasim, Lewis Gregory, Umaid Asif, Chris Jordan.
They don’t have any specialist batters who can drive in a lot of runs. You can’t do much with 7-8 all-rounders in an 11-member team. “This is a specialist’s game, not an all-game,” rounder’s Butt added.
