Zimbabwe will travel Sri Lanka for a three-match One-Day International series in January 2022 (December 28), Sri Lanka Cricket announced on Tuesday. The series will be contested in Kandy’s Pallekele International Cricket Stadium behind closed doors.
Sri Lanka has a new coach, Mahela Jayawardene. Who will serve as a “consultant coach” across all formats beginning January 1, 2022. With the series airing on January 16, 18, and 21, it will be his first job in the new capacity.

After a 17-year break, ODI cricket will return to Galle. With the last ODI match taking place there in 2000 between Sri Lanka and South Africa.
Moreover, after two years, Hambantota is scheduled to host an international match. The one-off Test will be held at R Premadasa Stadium, which is generally reserved for limited-overs cricket. In March 2013, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh played their last Test match.
The Zimbabwe tour will run from June 30 to July 18, with no Twenty20 International (T20I) matches scheduled.
