Pat Cummins skipper, missing the second after being identified as a close contact of a COVID-19 positive person. Australia’s bowling attack has been hampered by injuries, with Josh Hazlewood missing the second and third Tests.
With two Tests remaining, Australia has established an unassailable advantage in the Ashes 2021-20 series. While England has been disappointing, their problems have been exacerbated by Australia’s bowlers’ dominance.
In the last two Tests, the hosts have given debuts to Michael Neser and Scott Boland, while Jhye Richardson has also returned, but Australia hasn’t had to worry despite the absence of crucial pacers.

“The World Test Championship is a huge deal,” Pat Cummins said at the outset. “I’d love to be in the championship game.”
We’ve got a terrific possibility to go on a couple of subcontinental trips if we win away from home. “Our bowlers have performed admirably. There hasn’t been a single session when we’ve felt like it’s gotten away from us. The way we’ve played is what dreams are made of. Aside from the results, there are so many other positives: we’ve been able to bring in a few of debutants, and we’ve been able to put together a team of around 15 guys. It doesn’t just feel like a 3-0 win; it also feels like we’re laying the groundwork for the next few years.”
Cummins stated that the team’s performance thus far in the series should keep them in good shape for the next two years
“We currently have seven players ranked in the top ten in the world, and we haven’t put together the string of performances that we demand of ourselves in the last couple of years. This reaffirms that we are a very good, powerful Test side, and it is a positive indicator for the coming years.”
