Ishant dislocated his left little finger on a penultimate day in Kanpur
Allowing Mohammed Siraj to return. Siraj experienced a finger injury during the T20I series but has now been cleared to play.
Williamson has been dealing with a recurrence of an old left-elbow injury for much of the year

Coach Gary Stead revealed that the ailment flared up during the first Test and that it did not improve in the days after the game, therefore he was ruled out. While he is not present. The team will be led by Tom Latham.
Coach Gary Stead added:
“Having to deal with such a recurrent injury has been a really challenging period for Kane,”
“While we were able to manage his ailment throughout the year and throughout the T20 World Cup, the switch to Test cricket and the greater batting burden has irritated his elbow again.”
“Ultimately, the injury is still not right, and while he made it through the Kanpur Test, it was evident that he wouldn’t be able to play in the second Test.”
Meanwhile, India’s team management may consider a sixth batting option in the absence of Rahane and Jadeja. If they follow this path, KS Bharat or Suryakumar Yadav might make their debut at his home ground. Virat Kohli declared Wriddhiman Saha fit a day before the match.
