Shakib Al Hasan was declared fit to play in the second Test against Pakistan, following Bangladesh’s Test defeat in Chattogram, which begins on December 4.
Due to a hamstring injury, Shakib missed the first Test, as well as the T20I series against Pakistan and the final two matches of the T20 World Cup. After recovering his place in the 20-man squad, Taskin Ahmed was also included.

Taskin Ahmed, a fast bowler, has also returned to the squad, while T20 specialist Mohammad Naim gets his maiden appearance in a Test squad. Taskin injured his finger in the third Twenty20 International against Pakistan on November 22, ruling him out of the first Test.
Naim is the squad’s standout call-up. The 22-year-old has appeared in 32 Twenty20 Internationals and two One-Day Internationals. In February 2020, he completed his six first-class matches. Naim has only one half-century in the format, averaging 16.63.
For the Chattogram Test, the team management had previously chosen quick bowlers Khaled Ahmed and Shohidul Islam. For the Dhaka Test, the latest additions make it a 20-man squad, which is exceptional for a home game.
