Ian Bell won the Big Bash League with the Perth Scorchers in 2016-17, and he’s back five years later, seeking to lead the Hobart Hurricanes to victory.
Bell retired from professional cricket at the end of the English domestic season in 2020

And moved into coaching, working as a batting coach with England Under-19s over the winter of 2019-20. And as part of the coaching staff of Birmingham Phoenix during their run to the inaugural men’s Hundred final this summer.
He has been named as one of two assistant coaches for the Hurricanes before their BBL season. Opening on December 8 against the defending champions, Sydney Sixers. And has landed in Australia after a stint with the Chennai Braves in the Abu Dhabi T10 League.
Ian Bell stated:

During the 2016 Blast, Bell represented Warwickshire in their T20 phase as the Birmingham Bears. During which Matthew Wade, the Hurricanes’ captain, was one of their overseas players, and two of the Hurricanes’ three international newcomers – Jordan Thompson and Harry Brook – are fellow countrymen.
