Mohan Singh: Mohan Singh, the curator of Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Zayed Stadium, has died. Mohan, who was formerly linked with Chandigarh’s Mohali Stadium, died early Sunday morning (November 7).
The reason for death is unknown at this time, however, it has prompted a police inquiry by the local authorities.
The death has been verified by Abu Dhabi Cricket officials, who also stated that Mohan’s family has been notified and that they are on their way to Abu Dhabi.
Even while the play between Afghanistan and New Zealand was taking place on the field, the news broke.
An ICC spokesperson later said:
“We are deeply saddened and our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends, Abu Dhabi Cricket, and everyone connected with the event.”
Abu Dhabi Cricket later released a statement. “It is with great sadness that Abu Dhabi Cricket announces that Head Curator, Mohan Singh, passed away today. Mohan has been with Abu Dhabi Cricket for 15 years and has played a pivotal role in all of the venue’s success during that time.
“Sunday’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Super 12 game between New Zealand and Afghanistan went ahead as scheduled, with the support of Mohan’s family and Abu Dhabi Cricket’s ground staff.”
“It is very shocking news, he was very well known to me,” said Daljit Singh, the former chief curator of BCCI. “He was very a hard-working, committed and ambitious person. My condolences to the family,”

Mohan worked for Daljit for nearly ten years before relocating to the United Arab Emirates roughly ten years ago.
“He would be in touch with me regularly and I will check with his family,” a shocked Daljit further said.
Mohan, who was in his mid-40s, worked for the Abu Dhabi Cricket Board. The ICC, which is holding the World Cup in three venues in the UAE. Dubai, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi – have met with the Sheikh Zayed Stadium’s ground workers.
