The overwhelming victory not only kept India in the semi-final race but also boosted their net run rate (NRR).

India had an NRR of +0.073 heading into the match against Scotland after losing their first two games in the tournament to Pakistan and New Zealand.
Because of the manner of the victory on Friday, India’s NRR increased to +1.619, the most in the group. After their first two defeats, India had an NRR of -1.609.
India, on the other hand, has won thrashings over Afghanistan and Scotland since then. India’s NRR had moved into the positive zone after a 66-run victory over Afghanistan.
India’s overwhelming victory on Friday puts them in a position to take advantage of New Zealand’s loss to Afghanistan.
Afghanistan has a positive NRR of +1.481, whereas New Zealand has a positive NRR of +1.277. If Afghanistan shocks the Blackcaps and climbs the standings, India will need to beat Namibia in their last group game and keep their NRR above that of Afghanistan to go to the semi-finals.
