Pakistan captain, Babar Azam has helped overtake British David Malan in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 for the second consecutive century to take the top racket position in the ICC Men’s T20I Player Rankings.
Babar Azam, who led the 2009 champion to the semifinals 51 against Afghanistan and 70 against Namibia, is the sixth leader in his career.
The 27-year-old reached his first top spot on January 28, 2018.
He is currently number one in ODI. Babar’s 834 rating points are 36 points higher than David Malan’s, but after winning 65 against England on May 5, 2019, in Cardiff.
Malan has been at the top since November 29th last year.
The performance of England in the tournament is also reflected on the leaderboard, with both opening players Jos Buttler and Jason Roy rising in the latest weekly updates.
Babar’s best career remains at 896 rating points.
Buttler climbed eight spots to finish in the top nine of his career. After defeating his first T20I 100 against Sri Lanka. Meanwhile, Roy climbed 5 spots to 14th place.
