Bangladesh’s all-rounder Shakibu Al-Hasan was excluded from the rest of the ongoing T20 World Cup. After a thigh injury, the ICC announced on Sunday.
Shakib was injures in a clash between Bangladesh and defending champion West Indies on Friday.
“Shakib sustained a left lower hamstring strain while fielding during the match against the West Indies. In a clinical examination it was diagnose as an injury of Grade 1 intensity,” said the chief physician of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). Debashish Chowdhury, as quoted by ICC.
“He is ruled out from participation in the last two matches of the tournament and until further review,” says Debashish.

The ICC wrote on twitter:
“A massive blow for Bangladesh as the talismanic Shakib Al Hasan is ruled out of the rest of the #T20WorldCup 2021,”
With his all-rounder skills, the all-rounder has been a key player in Bangladesh in tournaments.
Shakib scored 11 wickets in six games he played in the ongoing tournament. Beating the top three and scoring 131 runs.
Bangladesh lost three runs to the West Indies in the previous match. But has not yet won the Super 12 stage of the tournament.
The Mahmudullahled team is currently at the bottom of the group’s 1-point table. With England at the top with three consecutive victories.
There are two games left in the Bangladesh campaign and few can compete in the semi-finals.
