Former Afghan skipper Asgar Afghanistan broke up stylishly when Afghanistan helped Afghanistan win 62 runs in Group 2 of the T20 World Cup at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Sunday.
In his last international inning, he won 31 out of 23 balls.
During his illustrious 17-year career, he played six tests, 114 ODIs and 74 T20Is, scoring 440, 2424 and 1351 runs in all formats, respectively.
Asghar Afghan has also won 20 and a half centuries and 2 tonnes in all formats. He has also retired from sports as one of the most successful captains in the shortest gaming format.
When Afghanistan finally left the pitch. His teammates gave him an honorary keeper while Afghan fans stood in the stadium and greeted veteran bats.

An emotional moment in Abu Dhabi.
“An emotional moment in Abu Dhabi. Asghar Afghan walks off the cricket pitch for the last time to an ovation from fans and teammates,” ICC captioned the video.
Afghanistan had previously announced its retirement from international cricket prior to its match against Namibia against Afghanistan.
“In the last match, we were hurt too much, and that’s why I decided to retire. There are plenty of memories, it’s difficult for me, but I have to retire,” Afghan said during a pre-match press conference.
Asghar Afghan played 6 tests, 114 ODIs and 75 T20Is in Afghanistan.
The right-handed batter made his debut against Scotland in 2009.
Asghar Afghan played his first longest format match when Afghanistan played against India in June 2018.

The Afghanistan’s Cricket Board (ACB) said in a tweet on Saturday.
“Afghanistan’s ex-captain Asghar Afghan who holds the highest winning streak as a captain in T20 internationals surpassing Indian legend MS Dhoni by one extra win decides to bid farewell with all formats of cricket in Afghanistan’s third match against Namibia at @T20WorldCup”
However, the cricket board took to Twitter again on Sunday. And In addition, posted photos of Asghar Afghan receiving the guard of honour from his teammates and captioned it as,
“Former skipper and national player @MAsgharAfghan played his last match today against Namibia, made important 31 runs and bade farewell to all formats of cricket with heavy heart. He received the guard of honor from his teammates.”
