Michael Atherton: When asked if India could get along with a young man like Ishan, Atherton kept in mind that the 23-year-old was certainly a dynamic batter.
T20 World Cup India-Pakistan At a post-match press conference, captain Virat Kohli was asked by reporters if Ishan Kishan was able to play an inning in front of Rohit Sharma.
The question was confused as Mr. Kori commented on the reporter, saying:

But sticking to Ishan’s appearance, it can be difficult for India to get him out of XI. Ishan has recorded three consecutive half-centuries in the last three T20 games and appears to be in good shape.
This is probably the reason in the discussion of how Ishan will appear in the discussion between former British batter Michael Atherton and Rob Kee.
Key asked Atherton if India had anything to do with young people like Ishan on their side.

“It was interesting to me. In India’s warm-up game against England, they rested Rohit. He obviously is a given. And they had Ishan Kishan and KL Rahul at the top of the order. Still, the former British captain thinks the combination of KL Raffle and Lohit opening is “the right thing”, even though India’s deputy captain can sometimes be late, and India could win the T20.
He added that it was stupid to believe in the World Cup, which also won and burned after defeat.
“But if you think of how Rohit plays… he sometimes takes a few balls to get going. I think they are doing the good thing by going with KL and Rohit at the top of the order. I think that is the right thing. And you can’t write off India after one bad game,” Atherton added.
