‘Disappointed’ New Zealand head coach Gary Stead has asked the ICC not to allow Adam Milne to replace the sick Lockie Ferguson before the 2021 T20 World Cup will face Pakistan.

“We tried pretty hard to get across the line with the ICC our replacement player, but it wasn’t to be. That was really disappointing for us because Adam Milne is someone waiting. In the wings as a like-for-like replacement,” Stead said after the match.
It was issued and reported that the ICC rejected the technical committee.
Ferguson was banished from the World Cup with a second tear in his right calf. And New Zealand wanted Milne to replace him in a team of 15 people.
“What we were told is they don’t give clearance on the same day. So we’ll question that reason and continue to seek clarification on that,” Stead added.
The Blackcaps coach said he shouldn’t play leg spinner, Ish Sodhi. But had to switch teams three times due to Milne’s confusion.
When asked if the presence of Milne influenced the outcome of the match against Pakistan. Stead cited Haris Rauf’s performance as an example.
He picked up four wickets and was one of the main reasons New Zealand didn’t make the first blockbuster.
Too many of New Zealand’s complaints, Milne was approved to replace Ferguson within an hour of the Pakistan match.
However, Stead said Milne, known for his rough pace, is likely to face India on October 31st.
“When you look at how we structure our side. We always try to have that pace dominance where we can, and we certainly lacked that.”
